Velšská hudební vizionářka Cate Le Bon se po deseti letech vrací do Prahy, kam přiveze svou sedmou sólovou desku Michelangelo Dying„Snažila jsem se, aby z nahrávání nevzešlo album o zlomeném srdci, ale bylo to silnější než já. Deska nemá lineární děj, je to koláž, která odráží roztříštěnost vzpomínek a smutek nad ztracenou fantazií.“
Cate Le Bon navazuje na své zásadní nahrávky Reward a Pompeii a řadu producentských úspěchů – od Phonetics On and On od Horsegirl, přes Grammy oceněné All Born Screaming od St. Vincent až po Cousin od Wilco – novým sólovým albem Michelangelo Dying, cyklem deseti písní spředených z těch nejniternějších emocí a ryzí zranitelnosti, hořkosladkou meditací o lásce, ztrátě i nepoznaném já.
Zvuková paleta alba, na němž se podílel i John Cale (The Velvet Underground), propojuje kytary, saxofony i syntezátory do monumentálního a zároveň intimního celku, s nímž Cate Le Bon znovu otevírá brány do světa, kde pocit převažuje nad formou a abstrakce se stává vlastním druhem pravdy. Album představí živě v pondělí 17. srpna ve smíchovské MeetFactory.

“I tried not to make a record about heartache, but it kept veering back. I surrendered to the process. There’s no linear storyline, it’s more like collage, the fragmented nature of memory and the grieving of a fantasy.”
Cate Le Bon follows up her acclaimed studio albums Reward and Pompeii as well as the many successful production projects – spanning Wilco’s Cousin, Horsegirl’s Phonetics On and On, and St. Vincent’s Grammy-winning All Born Screaming – with a new album Michelangelo Dying, a shimmering song cycle that picks at wounds even as it tries to preserve them, an iridescent, layered meditation on love, loss, and the unknowable self.
With a moving guest collaboration with John Cale (The Velvet Underground) and a sonic palette that folds guitars, saxophones, and synths into something both intimate and expansive, Le Bon once again invites listeners into a world where feeling overrides form, and abstraction becomes its own kind of truth.
