Catalpa Festival Celebrating 150 Years – Rockingham ForeshoreJoin us this Easter Sunday as we celebrate one of Western Australia’s most remarkable stories – the daring Catalpa rescue of 1876.
The Catalpa Festival brings the incredible story of the Irish prisoners who escaped Fremantle Prison to life through music, storytelling, history and culture. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Rockingham Foreshore, this family-friendly event will feature Irish music, traditional dancing, historical reenactments, local musicians and special guest speakers sharing the story of the famous Catalpa escape.
Throughout the afternoon visitors can enjoy live performances, cultural displays, food vendors and a vibrant atmosphere celebrating Irish heritage and community spirit.
