CIM Calgary Luncheon Details

Doors open at 11:45 with lunch starting at noon. Presentation will begin around 12:25.

We will be meeting in Room 234 in the downtown campus of the U of C.


Abstract: Over the past few years, mining has become a primary focus in Canada and around the world. There is a need and desire for critical minerals throughout the world and there is abundance in Western Canada.

Finning and Caterpillar are leading this sector with their equipment, technology, indigenous programs, and mine planning. Finning with the support of Caterpillar is leading the mining sector in product development and technology to support the mining community. Let us show you the latest advancements in open pit, underground and technology within this sector.



Speakers' Abstract: Greg is the Director, Greenfield Mining at Finning Canada, and is responsible for all developing mines in Western Canada. Greg is committed to supporting greenfield mines in the journey to mining with respect to equipment, technology, service, financing and community support. He believes that the mining community must work with all the stakeholders to ensure project success.

Greg holds a degree in Business Commerce and has been working at Finning since 2023. His experience spans a variety of roles and responsibilities in the energy sector. He started out as a laborer with a pipeline company when he was 14 years old and has held several VP and Director roles in the energy and mining sector in Alberta.

Based in Calgary, Greg brings a practical, customer-focused approach to commercial strategy, with a strong understanding of how technical solutions can drive meaningful business outcomes in the mining sector.
