Join us for our EcoFest 2025 event and make a difference. This event is a fantastic opportunity to give back to our community, protect local wildlife, and enjoy some time outdoors. We welcome volunteers of all ages to come together for a day of environmental stewardship and fun!
This is a two part event - after the clean up we'll head to Wairau Zero Waste Hub where we will do a waste audit and separate out anything we can recycle. Check out additional event details here

What to Expect:
Kickoff Gathering: Meet fellow volunteers, get your cleanup gear, and receive a brief overview, and of course - take some photos!
Beach Cleanup: Armed with gloves and buckets, we’ll scour the sand and surf for litter.
What to Bring:
Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes
Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses
Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
Gloves (if you have your own; we’ll have extras available)
Safety Tips:
We'll post the key points in this event, and run you through the health and safety briefing before we start
Take breaks and stay hydrated throughout the event
Children are welcome, but please supervise them closely
