Students will learn the casting process through clay mould making and cast a ring.Instructor: Luca Aguilar
Summary: Attendees will design a ring, and then make a mold so that it can be cast in silver.
Description: Students will design a ring, and carve the design out of jeweler's wax. A mold will be made of the wax using delft clay so that it can be cast. The silver will be heated up to melting temperature then poured into molds containing negatives of what was to be cast. Students will then proceed with the cleaning and the polishing of their piece. No previous knowledge is necessary to take this class.

About the Instructor :Lucas Aguilar is a University of Georgia graduate with a major in Studio Art. You can usually find Lucas (also known as Luca) building furniture, welding, or dressing sets. He has two cats and Youtube series called "Hey How's That Work With Luca." Before all of this, he used to fix fancy wristwatches.

If possible we will make every effort to transfer tickets to future course dates if contacted more than 24 hours before the course begins.
