With new music out this spring, the Rogue is thrilled to welcome back JUNO-nominated duo Cassie and Maggie!These two folk musicians originally from Antigonish have been enchanting audiences around the world with their unparalleled unity of strings, voices and fabulous percussive step dance. Their Celtic background influences their music, but they add an edge all their own. Cassie provides the powerful, lively fiddling, while her younger sister, Maggie, adds beautiful guitar and piano sounds and crystal-clear vocals. Both siblings use foot percussion to drive the rhythms of their songs.
It’s often noted that family groups have a special musical closeness and Cassie and Maggie demonstrate this phenomenon. Exciting and innovative, their talent is surpassed only by the sheer joy they exude in performance. Alternating between Gaelic and English, traditional and contemporary, haunting and electrifying, the duo is nothing short of mesmerizing.
