Join our *Rueda de Casino* dance class and social, where Cuban salsa meets the vibrant energy of a group dance circle! In this joyful class, partners switch seamlessly through a series of fun, synchronized moves, all called out by a leader (cantante). Get ready to laugh, connect, and move to infectious rhythms as you become part of the rueda (wheel), where every step brings excitement and unity! A social follows the classes, where we keep the music and vibe going for an open dance floor.
Class starts with a ‘suelta’ warm-up: without a partner, we get loose and comfortable with foundational steps. Then, we will be in the circle, rotating partners, for the rest of class. If you take both classes back to back, the second class is half price (total $27). Pay at the event.
Level 1 | 7-8pm | $18 +fees
Level 1 is entry level. Great for people with zero, or very little, rueda de casino experience. You learn the foundations to start experiencing the joy of rueda right away. No structured dance experience necessary. Taught by Michael Galen.
Level 2 | 8-9pm | $18 +fees
Level 2 is great for anyone who has danced rueda de casino before, knows the basic guapea step, and the calls ‘dame’ and ‘dile que no’. Taught by Jennie Fremont.
