About this Event
“Case for Water Rights Diligence” will cover the basics of Colorado water law with an emphasis on the importance of performing water rights diligence when water rights are included as part of a real estate transaction. The core of the presentation is a series of real-world examples of the kinds of issues that can be discovered during diligence as well as the problems that can arise when water rights diligence is not performed. Bill will also describe how water rights can be addressed during the diligence period of a transaction to get that transaction to closing. Overall, students will leave class with the ability to better identify possible water rights issues and to understand when it may be prudent to call a water attorney for a diligence assessment.
