Yuca Frita is a Bay Area born and raised Peruvian-American DJ whose high-energy, percussive, genre-blending sets synthesize Latin, Afro-Caribbean and club rhythms. Her sound has been described as a "rowdy, leftfield approach to reggaeton and dembow" (Resident Advisor). Known for her hype, dynamic taste, she mixes rambunctious edits with deep cuts to keep the dancefloor moving while paying homage to the club sounds of the global south.
Since the onset of her DJing career in 2021, she has played several notable events including Outside Lands and La Onda Music Festival, and played on various bills supporting artists such as Yaeji, Tokischa, Ms Nina, MJ Nebreda, Manuka Honey, Bianca Oblivion, OSSX and more.
