Welcome to CASA's Fundraiser that's full of fun & a splash of color for the entire family!
Citizens Against Spouse Abuse exists to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence to regain control of their lives — through safety, advocacy, counseling, and unwavering support.
Every service provided, every call answered, every survivor supported represents a moment where compassion became action — and action became impact.
This 5K and the money raised reflects the phrase:

Nucor of Sedalia and Carpet Plus are both excited to be hosting CASA's 6th Annual 5K Color Fun Run, June 20th at Clover Dell Park.
Bring your friends, co-workers, and the whole family.
• Music, Games, Trophies,
• Free Kids color dash for ages 2-7, followed with the 5K color run.
• Run or walk through 6 fun color stations for a color splash.
• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for youth division, women’s division and men’s division.
• If you can’t make it, you can sign up for our Virtual run.
• Signups before June 5th will include an event shirt and a medal. You can sign up through June 20th, but we can’t guarantee a shirt after June 5th. You can register in person on the day of the event from 7:30am-8:00am, but PLEASE BRING CASH or Check.
• Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund for this event. Since we immediately use entry money for shelter needs, all sales are final. Rain or Shine or Virtual.
• We also need volunteers for this event. If you or if you know of an organization that would like to volunteer, Saturday, June 20th, from 7:20a-11a, please call CASA at 660-827-5559
June 19th: EARLY PACKET PICK-UPS.
• We recommend that you pick up your packet the day before the event, which will give you more time to participate. You can pick up your runner bib and t-shirt at the STONE LASER IMAGING at 209 S. Ohio, Downtown Sedalia, Friday, June 19th between 10-11a and 1-3p. Ask for Julie to help you! Included in your registration packet is your race bib, T-shirt (if signed up by June 5), route map, and other special items.
• Location of the 5K is at Clover Dell Park at the pavilion by the lake.
• We encourage you to wear a white shirt to show off the brilliant colors.
June 20th: Schedule of Events: Our 5K is at Clover Dell Park at the Pavilion by the Lake.
• Check-in 7:30a-8:00 am.
• 8:10 am: Warm-up stretching
• 8:25 am: Kids Dash; Free Untimed 100-yard race just for kids! Just for Fun! Ages 2-7.
• 8:30 am: 5K begins. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for youth division, women’s division and men’s division.

CAN I RUN THE RACE WITHOUT THE COLOR POWDER GETTING DOUSED ON ME? Yes! You’ll miss the color station fun but we get it! You will run the same course but cross your arms in front of you so they know not to color splash you.

WHAT IS A COLOR RUN?
The Color Fun Run is a 5k with certain points throughout the course where they will be doused with our non-toxic color powder. We encourage goggles and face masks for any little ones. For the older guys and gals & adults – we suggest sunglasses and a white t-shirt to catch all the bright colors.
Here are some favorite Color Run tips. Follow these, and we promise you’ll have a blast at our event!
WHERE AND WHEN CAN I REGISTER? RIGHT NOW!
WEAR A BANDANA AND SUNGLASSES.
to help you keep the powder out of your nose, mouth, and eyes.
BRING A TOWEL AND BABY WIPES.
The CASA staff will be at the Finish Line for your photo ops. Getting into your car after a Color Run can still be a little messy, so we suggest to bring baby wipes and old towels to throw down on the seats of your car.
BRING A SMALL ZIPLOCK BAG FOR YOUR CELL PHONE.
You’ll want to capture the color splashes of powder, but keep it in a baggie to protect it from the powder.

RUN WITH YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR FAMILY, AND/OR YOUR KIDS.
The Color Run is where everyone feels comfortable getting active, no matter their age or ability level. Whether you’re young or old, you’ll feel at home!
IS THE COLOR RUN SAFE?
Safety is our main priority! Our colors we use are made with high quality cornstarch, food dyes and baking soda. All materials are 100% FD&C and/or D&C approved.
WILL RUNNING THROUGH THE COLOR ZONES AFFECT MY VISION OR BREATHING?
Our color powder is all certified non-toxic and free of any heavy metals. Our bright colors are a combination of cornstarch, baking soda, and FD&C (food-safe) dyes. Some Color Runners opt to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for their mouths. Our Color Throwers make sure to aim low as you pass by.
WILL THE COLOR RUIN MY CLOTHES OR RUNNING SHOES?
The color mostly washes out after the event. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. It’s best to wear items that you wouldn’t mind getting colorful. 100% cotton clothing is recommended and typical machine washing with stain remover, removes the stains. We recommend removing excess powder from clothing before washing and/or applying water.
HOW DO I KEEP THE COLOR IN MY SHIRT FROM A COLOR RUN?
While some people are concerned with making sure that the color washes out of clothing others want to show off their colors. We have detailed instructions on how to keep the color in your color fun run shirt through this link:

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? As you know CASA (Citizens Against Spouse Abuse) is a non-profit agency providing advocacy and healing services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence since 1983. The money raised will help us to provide these services through our 24-hour crisis hotline, food program, therapy, advocacy, education, language and cultural access services, housing, and so much more.
