CAS (Corrosion Association Singapore) and NCEEA (NTU Civil & Environmental Engineering Alumni) 2024 Technical Dinner Talk: Digitalization in Asset Integrity-3D Model & Digital Twin
CAS and co-organizer NCEEA are proud to host the 2024 Technical Dinner Talk. This event will be an exciting opportunity to delve into the world of digitalization in asset integrity through the lens of 3D models and digital twins.
A Digital Twin is a virtual replica of a physical asset that allows engineers and inspectors to monitor, predict and optimize its performance in real-time. By creation of the 3D model, selection of the CML (Corrosion Monitoring Location), inspection, linking the inspection data and corrosion rate in 3D model through Digital Twin platform, the behavior and health of an asset can be provided, which enabling Risk Based Inspection, Proactive Maintenance and reducing downtime.
For mechanical integrity programs, this provides contextualized visualization of vast amounts of data. As a concept, digital twin seems novel. But what are its realistic applications? What are the practical applications in operations and maintenance? How does it impact daily workflows?
