About this Event

Volunteer to work alongside UF/IFAS Extension and Oyster River Ecology to remove invasive species from the woodlands area at Carrollwood Village Park. This project is funded by a grant from the Tampa Bay Estuary Program to do some invasive species removal, replanting with natives, and education in the woodlands area at Carrollwood Village Park. We will be working alongside students from local high schools to cut and treat invasive trees. Lunch will be provided after the workday. Park in the first parking lot and meet at the butterfly garden for a quick debriefing before we walk back to the wooded area. Wear long pants, long sleeves, gloves and closed-toed shoes. Beware of poison ivy, remember leaves of three leave it be.
