Sign up for Robert Kendall’s talk in Carnegie room at Northamptonshire Central Library on 18th May 2024 at 2pm.The talk will be about Masque Theatre, a community Theatre.
Masque Theatre has been a community amateur theatre since 1932 when it was then called Northampton Drama Club. It has recently celebrated its 90th Birthday with a photographic exhibition in Abington Park Museum and taken some of the photos on tour. It really came into its own during WWII when the Northampton Borough Council asked the group to perform in Abington Park Courtyard as part of the war time Holidays at Home scheme and Masque still perform their summer show there - this year being The Winter's Tale.
Masque Theatre has over 100 members from the community and performs 6 plays a year in various venues as well as having a workshop and rehearsal rooms at Burns Street Studio. Rob Kendall is the Chair of Masque Theatre.
