About this Event
The Good Governance Awards recognises and encourages adherence to good governance by nonprofit organisations in Ireland. Public trust in the sector in recent years has been damaged by a number of high profile cases of bad governance and unacceptable and in certain cases, illegal activities. In these tough times, strong governance is more important than ever to enable nonprofit organisations to respond effectively and quickly to emerging risks and deliver their objectives. In this challenging context, the Carmichael Good Governance Awards aims to support and encourage nonprofit organisations in using their annual reports to manage, and communicate, their adherence to good governance more effectively and in doing so build greater trust.
This year, 130 nonprofit organisations entered their annual reports into the Good Governance Awards. The awards are divided into 7 categories based on the annual income of the organisation.
The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on November 21st.
The event will begin with a reception from 5.30pm until 6.30pm. The awards ceremony will open with an address from Carmichael CEO Diarmaid Ó Corrbuí. Following this, the winners in each category will be announced.
It would not be possible to run the awards without the continued support of our partners: 2into3, Board Effect, Chartered Accountants Ireland, Community Foundation Ireland, Davy, Deptartment of Rural and Community Development, Ecclesiastical, Mason Hayes Curran, Mazars, Xleap and Whelan Dowling and Associates. We are also grateful to our supporters: Boardmatch, Charities Institute Ireland, CPA Ireland, Dóchas, Enclude, Pobal, Sport Ireland, The Chartered Governance Institute, The Wheel and Volunteer Ireland.
The awards and event are run by Carmichael.
Thank you to Chartered Accountants Ireland for the use of the venue.
