About this Event
15:00-16:00 - VIRTUAL WORKSHOP
We understand it can feel a bit unsettling for expectant parents to be told their baby will need closer monitoring after birth. This VIRTUAL session aims to explore what your baby's first 24 hours will be like while your midwife monitors their blood glucose/sugar levels. We will talk about how you can make it easier for your baby to adapt after birth and help them to have and maintain normal blood glucose/sugar levels. Additionally, we will help you understand what happens if your baby's blood glucose/sugar levels fall outside the normal range and how your midwife will look after you and your baby if that is the case.
Due to limited spaces, we ask that you attend these sessions only if you are booked to have your baby at West Middlesex University Hospital and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- You have diabetes or gestational diabetes
- You are taking blood pressure Medic*tion
- Your baby is expected early / before 37 weeks
- Your baby is measuring small for gestational age
If you are unable to make your session, please reschedule as soon as you can. If you have a partner, family member or friend that is going to be supporting you after the birth attending with you, please ensure you have booked a place for them too.
AS SPACES AT THIS WORKSHOP ARE LIMITED, WE KINDLY ASK THAT IF YOU CAN NO LONGER ATTEND, PLEASE CANCEL YOUR TICKET TO ALLOW OTHERS TO BOOK ON TO THE WORKSHOP
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU AGREE TO "FOLLOW" THIS EVENT, AS THIS WILL ENSURE THAT FOLLOW-UP EMAILS, (WHICH WILL CONTAIN FURTHER COMMUNICATION ABOUT THE WORKSHOP AND ANY VENUE CHANGES) DO NOT GET LOST IN YOUR JUNK MAIL.
