About this Event
Caribbean Tapes Vol. 2 is an intimate dance gathering curated by CAMPURUSO, the stage name of Venezuelan artist Leo Zambrano.
Rooted once again in the warmth and imperfection of analog sound, this second volume turns its attention to Reggaeton—not as a trend, but as sonic history. A sound born from the Caribbean, shaped by migration, resistance, and joy, carried through cassette tapes, block parties, and shared memory.
This night traces regaetón back to its early textures and voices. Before algorithms. Before global playlists. When the music traveled hand to hand, body to body, through sound systems and home recordings.
“Caribbean Tapes is my way of honoring the music that raised me—the sounds that survived displacement, censorship, and misunderstanding. Reggaeton holds memory in its rhythm. Dancing to it is an act of remembering.”
— CAMPURUSO
Caribbean Tapes Vol. 2 is an invitation to move, to listen closely, and to reconnect with a music that has always been more than just music.
So let the tapes roll.
Let the low end speak.
And let the body remember.
