About this Event
Get Ready to Move at Carib Beats Weekly Fitness Sessions!
Carib Beats is a free, welcoming fitness and wellbeing session delivered as part of the wider Carib Eats community programme. The sessions are designed for people who want to move more, feel stronger, and support their physical and mental health in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Sessions take place on a different day to the Carib Eats canteen. Each session starts with a warm-up outside in the MUGA. The main session then takes place inside the centre and includes strength-based exercises, talk time and guided meditation. This structure supports both physical movement and emotional wellbeing in one session.
The programme is led by two qualified instructors who alternate weeks. Sessions focus on strength-based movement using bodyweight and simple equipment, with exercises adapted for all abilities. Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace, with options for low-impact or seated movement where needed.
Carib Beats is about more than exercise. It creates space for connection, reflection and shared experience, helping people feel comfortable being active together. The sessions are especially suited to adults who may be returning to exercise, managing long-term health conditions, or looking for a culturally familiar and inclusive space to move.
Carib Beats is delivered by Carib Eats CIC, a community-led organisation supporting wellbeing, connection and care through food, movement and shared spaces. The programme is supported by Hackney Council and Southern Housing. Sessions are free to attend and open to the local community.
