About this Event
The Future Workplace is Queer
About Career Story Nights:
Career Story Nights is a live storytelling evening where professionals share pivotal moments from their careers. These are not polished keynote speeches or LinkedIn success stories. They are honest reflections on the decisions, challenges and turning points that shape our working lives.
Each edition explores a different chapter of professional life. Previous evenings have explored themes such as career pivots, reinvention and corporate careers.
This edition explores the relationship between queerness, identity and work.
We invite stories from LGBTQIA+ professionals navigating careers across industries, organisations and creative spaces.
Queer careers are often shaped by moments of visibility, belonging, resilience, self-expression and change. This evening creates space for honest reflections on the realities of building a career while navigating identity in professional environments.
Stories of:
- Bringing new perspectives into workplaces and leadership spaces
- Navigating discrimination, bias and micro-aggressions
- Finding belonging and community in unexpected places
- Balancing visibility, authenticity and professional identity
- Creating change within organisations and beyond them
- Redefining success on your own terms
About the evening:
Throughout the evening, you will hear a series of short, live career stories from professionals across different industries.
Each story centres on a pivotal moment, a decision, a challenge or a shift that changed how someone saw their career.
After the storytelling, there is time to connect with others in the room and continue the conversation.
