About this Event
Care for the Caregiver
Come join us at Orleans United Church ('OUC') for a special evening created just for those who spend so much of their lives caring for others ❤️. This gathering will be a chance to pause, connect with people who truly understand, and discover encouragement and resources to support you on your caregiving journey. Whether you look after a loved one at home 🏡 or work as a professional caregiver 🩺, this evening is meant to remind you that your well-being matters too.
You’ll hear from caring voices who bring both expertise and lived experience:
- Rev. Glen Stoudt - retired United Church minister and former minister at Orleans United Church, who now leads OUC's spiritual direction ministry, will begin reflecting on the spiritual context of caregiving.
- Heather McGrath – a nurse in private practice and grandmother who knows firsthand the challenges of setting boundaries, will share her mix of professional insight and personal stories about keeping balance.
- Andrea Fisher – a master’s-prepared nurse who has worked across the world in both clinical and leadership roles, will guide us through the often confusing healthcare system with compassion and clarity.
- Suzanne Allen – a mom and caregiver who understands the daily balancing act of parenting, self-care, and supporting a child with additional needs, will speak on the importance of caring for yourself while caring for others.
The evening will include presentations, time for questions, and opportunities to connect with others, along with resources designed to encourage and strengthen caregivers.
Take this time for yourself ✨! Come as you are, leave feeling lighter, and know that you are not alone in this journey. We look forward to welcoming you!
