Course Description
This concentrated review will focus on the key aspects of caring for patients with cardiac and vascular disease across the spectrum of care. Included is a review of cardiac anatomy and physiology, risk factors and risk reduction strategies and professional aspects of caring for this patient population. Participants will also complete review questions to prepare them for the types of questions that will be on the exam, as well as test-taking strategies.
Key Learning Outcome
After completing the program, 80% of participants will report an increase in knowledge and confidence necessary to pass the certification exam.
Accreditation
MED-ED is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Acccreditation (ANCC). Contact hours are pending.
Eligibility Criteria to take Exam
- Hold a current, active RN license within a state or territory of the United States or the professional, legally recognized equivalent in another country.
- Have practiced the equivalent of 2 years full-time as a registered nurse.
- Have a minimum of 2,000 hours of clinical practice in cardiac-vascular nursing within the last 3 years.
- Have completed 30 hours of continuing education in cardiac-vascular nursing within the last 3 years.
