A Car Wash For The Hills!!Kayla has been diagnosed with Stage C Congestive Heart Failure.
Her family very much needs the support of their community at this time. Here is a little of their situation.
This family is amazing!
Kayla and I are both local small business owners in the Eugene, OR, area. We have two wonderful children, Thomas - age 5 and Dawson, who is two (2) weeks old.
After the birth of our son Dawson on 8/26/2022, My wife Kayla began experiencing severe health complications. After many ER trips and being admitted to the hospital on more than one occasion since the birth of our son, We have finally gotten a firm Diagnosis that Kayla is suffering from Stage C Congestional Heart Failure.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for Congestional Heart Failure. Congestive Heart Failure is a condition that worsens over time; but can try to be managed with surgeries and medication. We are working closely with her Cardiologist and a Team of Doctors to try to address this condition and figure out the right medications and surgical procedures necessary so that Kayla's health does not continue to decline into Stage D of CHF, at which point it is terminal.
We are unsure when Kayla may get to the point of needing a transplant, but we are hopeful that with the right treatment plan, it will be a few years before we are at that point.
As you can imagine, this diagnosis has put an enormous amount of emotional, physical, and financial stress onto our family. Because we are both self-employed, we do not have options available such as sick time or FMLA.
Kayla is entirely unable to work and do most basic daily activities at this point, and I have had to miss a substantial amount of work since her health has declined - and while we are also trying to take care of our toddler and newborn.
