Local residents are looking forward to the return of the Lions Club car boot sale on the 11th July as the backlog of items to be sold grows in lockdown. Some local residents have been using their spare time in lockdown to de-clutter their houses, lofts and garages. Whilst this is often therapeutic and leads to a more organised lifestyle, it has left the town with a larger than usual backlog of stock to be sold at the car boot sale - and residents can’t wait to cash in on their lockdown labours.
The return of the Bournemouth and Christchurch Lions Club car boot sale on the 11th July at the Stanpit Recreation Ground has been warmly welcomed. However, there will be a few changes to the arrangements to make it as COVID safe as possible. Pamela White from Lions explains “We’ve been working with the council to implement a COVID aware environment. This includes providing hand sanitising stations, marshals, wider aisles and working with a new layout. We’re now also taking contactless payments for pitches and donations to reduce cash handling to a minimum.”
So, with the modified arrangements in place, residents can now look forward to off-loading their stockpile of sellables - and maybe bag a bargain or two as well.
