About this Event
Take part in an interactive Psychology demonstration at Capilano University and experience what it’s like to study PSYC as a university student. This session will begin with a short in-class lecture exploring the brain and mental activity, while challenging some of the most common myths about psychology and neuroscience—such as the question, “What percentage of our brain do we actually use?”
Following the lecture, you’ll see psychology in action through a live demonstration using MUSE headbands that measure changes in brain wave activity. Guided by our instructors and lab supervisor, you’ll be introduced to EEG technology and other tools used in psychological research.
This hands-on experience will give you insight into how Psychology at CapU combines theory, research, and active learning. You’ll discover why Psychology is such a vibrant and multidisciplinary field—and how scientific approaches help us critically examine long-held assumptions about people, behaviour, and the brain.
