About this Event
This presentation will celebrate the awe and wonder of the world at night. From stars and the Milky Way, to aurora and noctilucent clouds, there is so much beauty to photograph under a dark sky. Instructor, Carmen Therriault, will teach you everything you need to know to successfully start capturing the night sky including the required gear, what settings to use, how to plan your night shots, and how to focus and create strong compositions in the dark.
This class is for beginners and enthusiasts alike!
Please make sure you bring:
- Your camera and lenses
- Charged battery
- Memory card
- Tripod with quick release plate
- A means of taking notes
Carmen is a nature, landscape and nightscape photographer with a background in teaching elementary school. The years spent observing the natural creativity and curiosity of children has influenced Carmen’s approach to exploring and capturing the natural world. During the global pandemic, Carmen began spending more time outside at night experiencing the awe and wonder of the cosmos above. Nights out under the stars continue to be her soul solace and provide inspiration and perspective for her daily life.
