Join Every Body Outdoors co-founder Emily Kynaston-Williams and film director Roxanna Barry for their premiere tour of capsized!
Celebrating adventure for all, we will be screening Shimano's film about All Bodies on Bikes founders Marley Blonsky & Kailey Kornhauser, who founded an inclusive cycling group in America, and the currently un-released Capsized, a film by Roxanna Barry about Emily's canoe adventure across the Outer Hebrides, touching on Emily's work with Every Body Outdoors.
Every Body Outdoors is a community for plus size people in the outdoors. They work with brands to improve the size inclusivity of their clothing, increasing access to more of the population, a lot of whom can't access technical outdoor wear, and can't enjoy outdoor sports as safely. They organise courses and events for the community, and have connected outdoor lovers across the UK!
All Bodies On Bikes
Kailey Kornhauser and Marley Blonsky are on a mission - a mission to change the idea that people in larger bodies can't ride bikes. The duo aims to make cycling more inclusive, beyond just inviting people of all sizes to ride bikes, but by changing the entire idea of what it means to be a cyclist — not just on screens, but on trails and in people’s minds.
Capsized
Some people dream of summiting the highest peaks, of visiting a remote island, of being the fastest to navigate a route. But not Emily. Emily dreams of esoteric adventure, and of dragging a canoe across a bog. Enlisting her friend Lisa to join her, the pair set off to the Isle of Lewis, to navigate its intricate system of lochs. But before any trip comes the prep, and part of that means finding the right kit. For Emily, this can be a tough adventure in and of itself. When outdoor shops only stock technical clothing up to a size 16, how is adventure possible for the 45% of women in the UK who wear larger sizes?
Capsized has been selected for Kendal Mountain Festival, London Mountain Film Festival, and won 'Best Inspirational Film' at Walkerwater, a Canadian watersports festival.
