Kick off your Memorial Day weekend with one of central Illinois’ most scenic and welcoming endurance events! The Capital City Biathlon offers something for everyone—from first-timers to seasoned athletes—set among the rolling countryside surrounding Danenberger Family Vineyards.
🏁 Event Options
• Mini-Biathlon (7:30 AM): 1-mile run + 7.5-mile bike
• 5K Run (8:30 AM): Flat, fast out-and-back on Irish Road
• Biathlon (8:30 AM): 5K run + 15-mile bike
• Team Biathlon: One runs the 5K, one rides the 15 miles
📦 Race Day Details
• Packet pickup: 6:30–7:15 AM (Mini) and reopens until 8:15 AM
• Check-in tent: South side of the winery near Irish Road
• Parking: East side of the winery
• Indoor restrooms + porta-potties available
• Fully chip-timed — line up by pace, your time starts when you cross the line
🚦 Safety First
Low-traffic country roads, ham radio operators along the course, and clear rules for runners and cyclists help ensure a safe and enjoyable race for everyone.

Collect your finisher medal, enjoy post-race snacks, and grab breakfast food available for purchase—friends and family welcome! Awards will be presented for top finishers and age groups across all events.
