Lili Boulanger’s D’un matin de printemps shimmers with youthful energy and the brightness of a new day, setting the stage for Debussy’s languorous, dreamy Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, a masterpiece of impressionistic color and sensuality. After intermission, Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 5 unfolds—a journey from darkness and grief to hope and triumph, culminating in the radiant beauty of its famous Adagietto. Let the power and poetry of these works transport you in this brilliant Masterpiece series finale. Music Director Alyssa Wang will conduct. Ticketholders are invited to our "Musically Speaking" talk about the concert program. The talk begins one hour before the concert and will be led by Assistant Conductor Joe Marchio.
