Help us “Road Trip” for an AmeriCAN fight against hunger!
About this Event

We are excited to announce a partnership with Common Roots Albany Outpost to raise money for CANstruction. Join us for a fun event open to the public on March 28th, order food and drinks, and enjoy some activities and the opportunity to win amazing raffle prizes donated by businesses across the Capital Region. CANstruction and the Food Pantries for the Capital District and help us make a difference in our community. 🎉🍻🎟️

March 28th, 2026: 1pm-6pm

Raffle Information: All the raffle proceeds will be donated to the Food Pantries for the Capital District to help families in need throughout the Capital Region. You don’t need to be present for the raffle drawing. We will get in touch with you to pick up your winnings. We have fantastic raffle items generously donated by MVP, the Palace Theatre, Common Roots, Albany Country Club, and more. Additional details will be shared soon, so keep checking back for updates!

Ticket Prices:

1=$15; 3=$40; 5=$60; 10=$100

We’ll also be collecting non-perishable food items during the event. If you’re able, please consider bringing a donation! Join us to help fight against hunger with this fantastic event! It’s free to the public, so don’t miss out!

What is CANstruction: CANstruction is an annual competition where architects, engineers, and students create large structures from canned food to showcase their talent and raise awareness about food insecurity. After the exhibit, all cans are donated to the Food Pantries for the Capital District. Last year, 71,000+ pounds of food and $50,000 were donated. The CSArch Team is the longest-tenured team that has been a participant since CANstruction's inception in 2011.

This year’s theme is “The Great AmericCAN Road Trip!” and the sculptures will be displayed at Crossgates Mall from April 27th to May 11th. CANstruction is trying to reach a major milestone this year by raising $25,000, bringing our all-donation totals to the Food Pantries for the Capital District to $500,000.
