Description
Dorset Indian Association (a registered UK Charity), in partnership with Wessex Cancer Alliance, Bournemouth University, Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust and LiveWell Dorset, is organising a Cancer Awareness Campaign 2025-26. The cancer awareness campaign ran throughout the year 2025, mainly intended for ethnic minority groups living in Dorset. The 3rd and final Cancer Awareness Event will be held on Saturday, 14th March 2026, from 10:00 – 16:00 at Bournemouth Gateway Building, Bournemouth University, 12 St Paul's Ln, Bournemouth BH8 8GP.
Consultants from the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust will be delivering specific talks on the prevention and early detection of Haematological, Oral and Throat, Stomach and Oesophageal cancers.
There will also be advice on breast screening and health checks, provided by the Dorset Breast Screening Unit and LiveWell Dorset.
At the event, you will:
- Hear more about Haematological, Oral and Throat, Stomach and Oesophageal cancers - signs and symptoms to look out for and what to do if you have any concerns.
