Kyl teaches English and Humanities at Champlain College. He holds an MA in Creative Writing and English from Concordia and has published fiction and op-eds in journals and newspapers across Canada.
đ Rebecca PÄpucaru
Defending A Minor Chorus by Billy-Ray Belcourt
Rebecca PÄpucaru is the author of the novel As Good a Place as Any, named a CBC Books Best Fiction Book of 2025. Her poetry collection The Panic Room won the Canadian Jewish Literary Award for Poetry. She teaches English at Champlain College.

Defending The Cure for Drowning by Loghan Paylor
Jane is the author of the award-nominated middle-grade novel How to Be a Goldfish. Her fiction and poetry have appeared on CBC Radio and in literary magazines across North America and the UK. She is Vice President of the Canadian Society of Childrenâs Authors, Illustrators and Performers.

Defending Foe by Iain Reid
Juliette is a Sherbrooke-based sci-fi writer and book reviewer. A graduate of Bishopâs University in Film and Media Studies, she enjoys exploring strange ideas, unusual stories, and off-kilter discussions.

Defending Itâs Different This Time by Joss Richard
David Winch is a writer-editor based in North Hatley who writes a column for The Record. After a long career as an editor for the United Nations, he now writes on politics, culture, and society.
