About this Event
*We have booked the private upstairs room at North Point Brewing. Just head up the stairs to find us.
Join the North Vancouver Greens to discuss the wars, threats and rapidly changing geopolitics of 2026. We'll split into smaller groups of 6 - 8 people, and together we’ll unpack recent global developments from a Canadian perspective. We'll use Mark Carney's Davos speech as a launching point, including:
- What does Mark Carney’s Davos speech reveal about the so-called “rules-based order”?
- Are we entering a new era of great power politics and open imperialism?
- How should Canada respond to rising military conflict, economic coercion, and shifting alliances?
- Is liberal democracy under threat—and what does that mean for citizens and activists?
- How does reduced international co-operation affect efforts to prevent climate change and biodiversity loss?
While we proivide structured questions, groups are encouraged to follow the conversation in the direction that they're most interested in, along with taking time to get to know the other folks at your table.
Whether you’re deeply engaged in politics or just curious about global affairs, this is a space to think critically, connect with others, and help shape a more just and sustainable future.
All are welcome.
