CAN I KICK IT? Downtown Austin presents "Kung Fu Hustle"

The Downtown Austin Alliance is teaming up with the creators of Shaolin Jazz once again to present the CAN I KICK IT? Downtown Austin Movie Series.
At each event movies will be scored live (scene-by-scene) with a blend of Hip Hop, Soul, Rock and more mixed by DJ 2-Tone Jones. The result is a live, remixed soundtrack to the movies using music to complement the dialogue and story line while also incorporating special DJ techniques to accentuate elements in different scenes.
The series kicks off on Saturday, November 29 with a screening of the martial arts comedy Kung Fu Hustle. The film stars Stephen Chow as a petty crook who joins a notorious gang and discovers his hidden kung fu skills.
The events are free for all ages and open to the public. Each night the festivities will kick off at 7pm with an opening DJ set, followed by the film shortly after 8pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Food trucks and other amenities will be on site.
