About this Event
How can Sheffield become a home to thriving people in a thriving place, while
respecting the wellbeing of all people and health of the whole planet?
Join Emma Woods from Flourish Economics for a 2.5 hour participatory
workshop to find out and understand what it would mean for Sheffield to live
“in the doughnut”.
Doughnut Economics introduces the idea of the safe and just space for
humanity which sits between the social foundation and the ecological
ceiling. This is the space where people and the planet can thrive in harmony.
Through this 2.5 hour workshop, delivered in partnership with The Sheffield Sustainability Network and The Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures, we will look at Sheffield through 4 lenses, which can help us to understand what it means to live well within planetary boundaries.
Together we’ll explore;
What would it mean for everyone here to live a good life?
What if nature’s generosity became a benchmark for our communities?
What would it mean for Sheffield to remain within planetary boundaries?
How we can ensure the way we live here respects and enhances the lives of people worldwide?
Lunch and refreshments provided.
