THE VISION:
Saturday June 13:
9a-4p: Market opens to Public Shopper
~Market Features multi-family yard sale, arts & crafts vendors, live DJ's featuring daytime tunes, flow jam, and just generally hanging with friends & (f)artig around between shoppers!
4p: Market closes to the public & the event turns private; transition time to clean up the market for the night
7p: Break Bread: communal potluck during Golden Hour! Bring something delicious to share!!
9p: Ignite the bonfire and let the night begin!
~Live DJs will feature more nighttime, bassy music. Fire circle opens (*please see below for fire saftey). Cacao is available.
1a: Music transitions to quieter levels; bonfire gatherings or cuddle puddles commonly occur during this time [:
2a: Music closes; sleep at your own leisure
Sunday June 14
10a-4p: Market re-opens to the public, featuring the same awesome vendors and dj tunes!
Coffee, cacao and morning snacks (bagels or pastries anyone?), available self-serve as you wake up through the morning, provided by.... us truly! Yes, us! If you like this idea, consider contributing so we can all share and partake (:
QUESTIONS & PROBABLY ANSWERS:
-- What's the Bathroom Situation?
Absolutely no peeing on the property. Please. This is my backyard, no your woodsy toilet. Especially when I hand crafted an outhouse specifically for this event!! Please consider bringing a roll of your own TP, 1ply preferred. A bathroom trashcan will be available for wipes, menses products, etc.
-- Can I Car Camp?
Potentially. There are limited spots available and somewhat weather dependent (no one wants to get stuck in the muddy rain). There iis no electrical hookups or sewage etc. Please DM if you are interested in car camping!
-- What is the Tent Camping like?
Tent camping is available near the tree lines on the property so there will be shade available to all campers. Mostly flat ground with a slight slope in some areas. Mossy patches in others. Subject to dewy evenings & mornings so please plan accordingly!! No electricity, so plan lighting & food accordingly.
-- Are there Hotels Nearby?
Yes, the closes are about 20 minuets away either South towards Lexington (perhaps cheaper) or North towards Winston Salem (a way cooler town).
-- What about Food? I heard there might be a Food Truck?
Okay, food:
- The food truck is a *maybe* and it's still in the process.
- Two Potlucks: Golden Hour Potluck Dinner is a celebrational breaking of bread to commemorate the start of the evening gathering. Please bring your favourite summer solstice dish to share! Morning Coffee & Brekky Snacks is another potluck. These potlucks are a collaboration that is only as fruitful as our own contributions<3
- Otherwise, please plan for your own food and snacks. Please note that no electricity is available. No open fires on the ground please, but propane stoves etc are fine(:
- There are local diners. pizzerias, take out, etc. about 5 minuets away in the town of Midway. **Lexington is "famous" for it's BBQ. About 15-25 minuets is Winston featuring a wider variety of cuisine
