About this Event
Two-Plank Camp Chair Build
Build a striking reclaimed wood Viking-style chair — portable, sturdy, and perfect for summer campfires, patios, festivals, and backyard lounging.
Overview
Build your own handcrafted two-plank camp chair using reclaimed wood and simple woodworking techniques. Inspired by classic Viking and safari-style seating, this deceptively simple design fits together using only two interlocking pieces — creating a functional, sculptural chair you’ll actually want to show off.
What’s This All About:
This month, we’re building a chair that’s equal parts rugged, practical, and conversation starter. Using reclaimed lumber, you’ll shape, sand, cut, and assemble a traditional two-plank camp chair designed to be sturdy enough for outdoor use while remaining easy to transport and store.
In this hands-on woodworking workshop, you’ll learn how to safely work with reclaimed wood, make precise cuts, and create a finished piece that feels both modern and timeless. Each chair will have its own character thanks to the natural grain and imperfections of reclaimed materials.
Whether you’re brand new to woodworking or already love building things with your hands, this class is designed to be approachable, creative, and satisfying from start to finish.
Come solo, bring a friend, or make it a unique date-day experience — and leave with a handmade chair ready for campfires, stargazing, festivals, porches, or backyard hangs.
