Join Boston Harbor Now and Boston Harbor Islands National & State Park for a unique opportunity to camp on Spectacle Island!
🛳 Tickets include:
- Roundtrip ferry from Downtown Boston to Spectacle Island
- Camping for one night in group camping area
- Continental breakfast
- Ranger and Boston Harbor Now led games and nature walks

⛺️What to bring: Please bring everything necessary for a backcountry camping experience including:
- Tent (s) ** Camp tent stakes must be 8 inches or less **
- Blankets, pillows, camping pads
- Cooking & eating utensils as well as plates or bowls
- Food & beverages to last your entire trip* Please note that NO ALCOHOL is permitted on the island
- Outdoor clothing and gear
🚫 Restrictions
- No fires or charcoal grills
- Cooking is allowed on a designated area on the beach below high tide line. Only portable backpacking stoves are allowed
- Camping will be field style on the saddle. No tents will be set up on the beach
- Following mass.gov's restrictions, no animals (exception for service dogs), no fireworks, and no littering is allowed on the island. Spectacle Island is a carry on/carry off space, including trash. This includes leave no trace and prohibits the collection of natural and cultural materials such as seaglass or seashells.
- No pets
- Quiet hours 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- No smoking or vaping on island
- No amplified sound
- No beach access between 10:00 PM - sunrise
☀️ Itinerary
Friday - July 31
- Arrive on a ferry to Spectacle Island on the 4:30 PM ferry
- Set up tents after 5:30 PM
- Optional evening programing begins, including a sunset nature walk, stargazing, bingo, s'mores, lawn games, a junior ranger program, self-led wellness station and art activities!
- Night programming ends at 9:30 PM
Saturday - August 1
- Continental breakfast between 8:00 - 10:00 AM
- Pack up your camping gear by 11:00 AM
- Depart on one of the ferries back to Boston - either 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 3:30PM, or 5:30PM
*This event is rain or shine. We will cancel for extreme weather and inform you of a rescheduled date or offer full refunds.*
*Options for food include bringing your own food, purchasing dinner from ZaZ Restauant on Spectacle Island, purchasing light snacks and beverages on the ferry, or purchasing food from our partner, Luke's Lobster at the Welcome Center pavilion on the Greenway, just a five-minute walk from Long Wharf where ferries depart
