About this Event
The prairie landscape of Greenway/Westerly Creek Parks will be a perfect setting for our wide-ranging conversation about Camille Dungy's Soil: The Story of a Black Mother's Garden, a current nominee for the Colorado Book Award. Camille's book, set in Fort Collins, is a rich memoir of a mother, poet, teacher, and gardener -- someone who is always questioning, and always putting down root, even during the unceretain days of pandemic and racial strife.
"A brilliant and beautiful memoir of Dungy's deepening relationship with the earth. Soil demands we witness what erodes of frays or severs the stabilizing roots between us. Let us put our hands in and try to listen." -- Ross Gay
