Indian artist Kanchan Avchare makes her Cambodia debut at Meta House with a special screening, artist talk, and pop-up show. A narrative designer and “metaphor creator,” Kanchan hacks waste, mythology, evolutionary science, theatre, and poetry into sensorial works that probe our relationship with the environment and each other.
Trained in physical theatre in Mumbai and inspired by classical forms like Kathakali, Kudiyattam, and Bharatanatyam, she has received major recognitions including the INLAKS Grant (2019) and the KCC Art Fellowship (2020–21). Her award-winning solo play Happily Tagged Ever and her site-specific performance practice have earned her a reputation for bold, thoughtful experimentation.
At Meta House she presents her first film, the experimental short The Cosmic Atomic, Brahmandam Pindandam—a fusion of theatre, poetry, and striking visual language. The film is already touring internationally, with its European premiere in Greece and Asian premiere in Beijing later this year.
English language. Free entrance.
