Come celebrate Khmer New Year with The Cambodian Buddhist Temple of Dallas. Most events will occur on Saturday and Sunday. Along with the celebrations, there will be; Buddhist ceremonies, food/merch vendors (CASH ONLY), traditional Khmer performances, and a live band. Parking donations are suggested upon entering both front and back entrances.Program for the New Year Festival

•Bang Skol—Transferring merit to the spirits of our ancestors
•Roab Baht—Alms bowl offerings and offerings to the monks

•Communal lunch for all participants
5:00 p.m.
• Khmer Traditional performances by Selepak Khmer Angkor
•Evening prayers
7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
*There is a live Band and social dancing in the evening

•Re-enactment of the celestial ceremony of Kabel Mahaprohm and the changing of the Angels
•Sraung Preah (ស្រង់ព្រះ)—Sprinkling holy water on Buddhist images
•Sand Mound Ceremony (the atonement of wrongdoing)
•Accumulation of merit for 12 years cycle of Buddhist or Lunar calendar (Dispelling misfortune for the new year)
•End of ceremonies
