Biography – AIMA Quartet
Founded in 2024, AIMA Quartet was born within the academic environment of the Mallorca
Saxophone Studio at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears (CSMIB), under the
guidance of the pianist Llorenç Prats.
They have had the opportunity of studying with great musicians such as Xabier Casal, Carlos
Ordóñez, Yuko Mizutani, Ángel Luis de la Rosa, Kebyart Ensemble, Marie-Bernadette Charrier and
Álvaro Arias, and to receive advice from renowned saxophonists like Jesús Reneses, Daniel
Sánchez-Manjavacas, and Francisco Rusillo.
In February 2025, the quartet embarks on a tour in Madrid, performing at the final concert of the
Madrid Sax Academy and also taking part in concerts by the Mallorca Saxophone Studio at the
same city.
Furthermore, the quartet won the 2024/2025 Chamber Music Competition at CSMIB and became
the most awarded ensemble of the “Villa de Pedro Muñoz” Chamber Music Cycle-Competition, held
in March 2025. In 2026, AIMA Quartet has been finalist in the National Chamber Music Competition
“Villa de Cox”.
AIMA Quartet has performed in venues such as the Auditori del Conservatori Superior de Música
de les Illes Balears, the Auditorium of Colegio Mayor Aquinas, the Main Hall of the Pedro Muñoz
