A Calyces egy négytagú progresszív-heavy zenekar, amely a 2000-es évek elején kialakult progmetált a '70-es évek klasszikus progresszív rockjának legfinomabb elemeivel ötvözi. A zenekar repertoárjában jól megférnek egymás mellett a mély hangolású riffek és a sodró poliritmia, néhol atmoszférikus részekkel, dallammal és energiával színesítve, nagy hangsúlyt fektetve a groove-ra. A Calyces már jól ismert a görög élőzenei színtéren, hiszen olyan neves csapatok előzenekaraként léptek fel, mint a Tesseract, a Cult of Luna, valamint turnéztak a Need-del is. „Impulse to Soar” című debütáló albumukat a Grammy-díjas hangmérnök, Alan Douches (Mastodon, Kvelertak, The Dillinger Escape Plan stb.) masterelte, amelyen Jørgen Munkeby (Shining) is vendégszerepel egy szaxofon szólóval az „Unfair Labour” című dalban.

Calyces (GR)
Calyces is a four-piece progressive-heavy band that combines the progmetal of the early 2000s with the finest elements of classic progressive rock of the 70s. The band's repertoire combines deep-tuned riffs and sweeping polyrhythms, sometimes with atmospheric parts, melody and energy, with a strong emphasis on groove. Calyces is already well-known on the Greek live music scene, having performed as an opening act for such renowned bands as Tesseract, Cult of Luna, and toured with Need. Their debut album "Impulse to Soar" was mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Alan Douches (Mastodon, Kvelertak, The Dillinger Escape Plan, etc.), and features a guest appearance by Jørgen Munkeby (Shining) with a saxophone solo on the song "Unfair Labour".
