A lot of people believe that you need good handwriting to learn calligraphy. That is simply not true.

Handwriting and calligraphy are two completely different things. Handwriting is something we develop casually over time. Calligraphy is a learned artform based on understanding strokes, pressure, spacing, rhythm, and movement. Some of the best calligraphers started with very average handwriting.

This workshop is open to complete beginners. You do not need prior experience, artistic background, or “good writing”.

Calligraphy is not only for people who want to turn it into a profession. It is also for people looking for a slower, quieter practice away from screens and constant noise. Many people enjoy it as a way to relax at the end of the day.

Learning calligraphy improves focus, patience, hand control, observation, and attention to detail. It teaches you to slow down and be present with what you are creating. Unlike many artforms, calligraphy sits between discipline and expression. Every stroke has structure, but no two hands create letters the exact same way.
