This program is for adults (Teens welcome)
Explore a new culture or embrace your own! Artist Soheila Esfahani will lead participants in learning the introductory techniques of Islamic calligraphy using qalam (traditional reed pen) and ink. Participants will then create artworks inspired by calligraphy. No knowledge of language or calligraphy is required.
Soheila Esfahani is an award-winning Iranian Canadian visual artist. Her work has been exhibited at the Aga Khan Museum, Canadian Cultural Centre Paris, Doris McCarthy Gallery, Cambridge Art Galleries among others.
