About this Event
The next Grapevine Tasting is on January 14, 2026, at 7pm. Our last tasting was California Cabernet Sauvignon, and it was a great success. We knew there had to be bargains to be had given the current stress in the California Wine market, but we didn’t realize just how many once higher priced wines are now selling at a reasonable price. There weren’t many bottles that were priced greater than $25 and they were all good. The most favored wine of the night was a non- vintage Cabernet Sauvignon produced by Caymus Winery in the Napa Valley. Check out K&L Wines of San Francisco to see if they still have some available. The price was (is) under $20.
Our show of support for California Cabernet Sauvignon caused members to request a tasting of California Chardonnay. We don’t think there are as many bargains in Chardonnay as was true for Cabernet, but let’s find out! Start sampling and bring a bottle to the tasting on January 14!
As a reminder, these tastings follow a familiar format. Each person (not each couple) will bring a bottle of the featured wine to the tasting. Wine glasses, tableware, bread, cheese, and wine tasting sheets will be provided by the Club in exchange for a fee of $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Attendees will be seated at tables of five to six people. You are welcome to specify if you wish to sit with friends. Often those requests can be accommodated
Please remember to bring a bottle of California Chardonnay for each person in your party!
