About this Event
Sideways - The Documentary - Private Viewing
One of Canada's greatest sports tragedies and triumphs, this documentary provides insights into the 1986 Swift Current Broncos.
On December 30th, 1986, four members of the Broncos perished in a horrific accident. Two years later, the Broncos were the best team in Canada, winning the Memorial Cup, all while under the guise of Graham James.
This is a story of trauma, healing, and resilience. It shares the stories of several members of the team, the coaching staff, family and friends.
The objective of the documentary is to shed light on a remarkable story of resilience, how trauma can create mental health issues, and why we need support when we experience the traumas in life.
We need the support of leaders in the community to help us share this story, provide insights on how to heal, and enhance our communities across Canada.
