About this Event
Pasadena parents and caregivers of children and youth with special healthcare needs (CYSHCN) are invited to attend an evening of discussion and food with other parents. This event is free. The Vitality Parent Café is hosted by the Pasadena Public Health Department’s California Innovations in Services and Partnerships for Inclusion, Resilience, and Empowerment (Cal-InSPIRE) Program and follows the Be Strong Families Vitality Café model. Cal-InSPIRE is an innovative program funded by the California Department of Public Health to find solutions to address the needs of children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) and their families in Pasadena.
What is a vitality parent café?
Vitality parent cafés are a type of parent café focused on six domains of wellness and provide safe spaces for parents and caregivers to share their experiences and challenges with their own wellness. Vitality parent cafés are different than traditional parent cafés because parents and caregivers have an opportunity to talk and focus on themselves, rather than focus on their children. By talking about wellness, caregivers have an opportunity to build stronger, healthier families by starting with their own wellness.
Vitality parent cafés are free events hosted by Cal-InSPIRE for parents and caregivers of children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) or disabilities. There is no cost to participate in a parent café.
