Come and join us at the Cambridge Community Cake Picnic for 2025 and support a good cause! Before the event:
1. Register and get a ticket: Sign up and purchase a ticket for the event. Private message me to arrange payment for entry before the event. This one’s for the grown-ups! Please make it a day out just for you — no partners or little ones this time. Admission is $15 per person.
2. Bring a cake: You must bring a whole cake, cupcakes (at least 12), Cheesecake, slices or any sweet treat to share. Must be homemade.
3. No judging of cakes:
All cakes are celebrated, whether they are fancy, simple or a bit wonky.
This is your time to shine and test that new recipe/skill.
It’s about joy not perfection.
4. Bring a server: Pack a cake server and a knife for cutting.
5. Label your cake: Clearly label your cake including any dietary exclusions. We will provide a label that you can fill and display with your treats.
6. Consider a blanket: While not a rule, bringing a picnic blanket is a good idea.
7. Pack salty snacks: Feel free to bring any other snacks if desired.
8. Dress code: Come in your flowery dresses, pants, shirts, hats, etc. and celebrate spring.
9. What we need before the event:
- Any volunteers, please let the host know prior to the event.
- Trestle tables & white and/or floral table cloths.
At the event
1. Check in:
Upon arrival, you may receive a coloured wristband.
2. Be respectful:
Be courteous to other attendees and their cakes. There are no judges at these events.
3. Take your share:
You can take as many slices of cake as the number of cakes you contributed. There will be a time limit per row of tables to browse and select your choices of treats.
4. Enjoy the event:
The organizers provide boxes, and volunteers are there to help.
The purpose of the event is to raise money for Kids in Need Waikato. The funds for the tickets will go to the cost of the event and the charity. Feel free to make any additional donations.
This event will only go ahead if the weather is good, if it is raining, the event will be postponed.
