Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy the music of The Cajun Country Revival, a supergroup that includes some of the finest American roots musicians. Natalie’s menu will include some authentic Louisiana cuisine and drinks for this very special evening. There will be a 30 minute dance instruction session just before showtime, so come early and join in the fun!
The Cajun Country Revival is a gathering of musical minds from different backgrounds who share a common love for American roots music and its capacity to bring people together.
Combining ancient folk music traditions rooted primarily in Appalachia and French Louisiana, along with other uniquely American creations like country music as well as original music born from these traditions, the Revival are keepers of the old flame who find new ways to make it burn hotter and brighter than before.
Formed in the early 2010s by Joel Savoy, Jesse Legé, and members of the Foghorn Stringband, the latest iteration of this Roots Music Supergroup sees Joel’s hometown friend and musical compatriot Linzay Young join the group, simultaneously adding the Prairie Cajun twin-fiddle element and Young’s versatile vocal stylings, which range from emotive Cajun cries to country-style crooning.
Leading the group is dancehall veteran and charming exporter of Cajun music, Jesse Legé. Legé’s masterful accordion playing and powerful singing make him one of the most sought-after artists in Cajun music for those who value the authenticity and seemingly endless songbook Jessé possesses. Jesse Legé was born around Gueydan, Louisiana, in Vermillion Parish — the “Duck Capital of the World”, and spoke Cajun French as his first language. He’s been playing music for almost 6 decades, and is the true “elder statesman” of the group, while still bringing a youthful exuberance to everything he does.
Joel Savoy and Linzay Young have been making music together since they were in their early teens. Well-steeped in their Cajun culture, this dynamic duo from Eunice Louisiana, has traveled the world sharing their heritage through music, food, and stories with a casual and intuitive authority that, as Linzay likes to say, would even make his home-cooked spaghetti a “Cajun” dish. Sharing the stage together as founders and frontmen of the Red Stick Ramblers in the early 2000s, Linzay and Joel helped lead a renaissance in Acadiana to create the blooming scene that exists there today. They inspired the likes of Chef Anthony Bourdain and HBO’s Tremé to visit South Louisiana, stimulating a new wave of events focused on the area’s food and music, such as traditional “boucheries”, “courirs de mardi gras”, music festivals, cook-offs, and more. Performing a range of both original and vintage southern music these musical brothers unite with fiddles, accordion, guitar, and voice to make every performance feel like a lantern-lit house dance on the prairies of southwest Louisiana.
Nadine Landry and Sammy Lind are passionate about traditional fiddle music that has been passed on for generations, classics of the southwest Louisiana Cajun dance halls and songs that could have filled a 50s honky tonk jukebox. They live in Eastern Quebec and tour all over the world as a duo and with The Foghorn Stringband as well as Cajun Country Revival.
Whether you find them performing in intimate concert setting or for lively dances, join Cajun Country Revival for a joyous blend of North American traditional music and great storytelling highlighting their respective cultures and entertaining tales from their decades-long musical partnerships.
Food & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show. If you would like to eat before the show we encourage you to make a dinner reservation on Resy for our kitchen side of the venue.
