Without a doubt, the past three years have been challenging, with community managers, business partners and Board Directors/Board members weathering COVID, marketplace uncertainties and shifting work responsibilities. In addition, many community association management industry members bear an increased burden as they often have responsibilities in addition to their “day job,” which if left unchecked can lead to unmet work-life balance issues along with burnout and stress.Finding joy every day in the community association management industry requires a positive mindset. While that sounds easy on paper, it’s not always easy to do. Consciously or unconsciously, professionals in this industry often find themselves trudging through the “weeds” of their jobs, trying to make it through each day while submerged in a variety of challenges. By staying down in the weeds, they sacrifice their perspective and their positivity.
