The American alternative rock sound is fully back, thanks to one of its most fascinating representatives: Cage The Elephant. The Kentucky-based band has been making waves since May with their sixth album, *Neon Pill*. And there’s good news today, as the band announces the European leg of their world tour, including a stop in Brussels! Cage The Elephant, with support acts Sunflower Bean and Girl Tones, will perform on February 24 at Ancienne Belgique for what promises to be a legendary night of pure rock.
Since their formation in 2006, Cage The Elephant has quietly risen to become one of the best rock bands of their generation. They excel with their uncompromising creativity and wild, cathartic performances. Over the years, they’ve earned multiple gold and platinum records, amassed more than five billion streams, and won two Grammy Awards for ‘Best Rock Album’—in 2015 for *Tell Me I’m Pretty* and in 2019 for *Social Cues*. Their music has become a staple in pop culture through collaborations with big names like Dave Grohl, Beck, and Iggy Pop, soundtracks for films and TV shows (such as *Spider-Man 2* and *The Summer I Turned Pretty*), and viral TikTok hits. Their sound has evolved from garage rock to a more refined blues rock, thanks in part to Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Their new album, *Neon Pill*, is a testament to this evolution. Five years after the success of *Social Cues*, Matt Schultz and his band surprise us with fresh sounds and a vibrant mix. They take listeners on a journey through funky and atmospheric elements reminiscent of Pink Floyd, as well as rhythms that echo The Strokes—a true delight.
